These Terms of Service govern:
- Use of the Japanese Mastery Lab website.
- Applications.
- The Free Japanese Speaking Diagnostic.
- Enrollment.
- Private coaching.
- Payments.
- Scheduling.
- Access to materials and recordings.
- Communication through email, SMS, Zoom and WhatsApp.
By completing enrollment, making a payment or checking the Terms acceptance box at checkout, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms of Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

2. Eligibility
- The marketing is primarily directed to Americans living in or preparing to move to Japan.
- Applications may be accepted from students of any nationality and location.
- Beginners, intermediate students and advanced students may apply.
- Students may learn Japanese for life in Japan, work, family, travel, hobbies, anime, culture or personal development.
- Enrollment is subject to scheduling capacity and whether the program appears suitable for the student’s needs.
- Anyone under 18 requires approval from a parent or legal guardian.
- The customer must provide accurate information.
3. Free Japanese Speaking Diagnostic
The Free Japanese Speaking Diagnostic may include:
- A conversation about the applicant’s current situation.
- Questions about goals.
- Questions about previous study.
- A brief speaking assessment.
- A personalized mini-lesson based on the applicant’s goals.
- General feedback about speaking barriers.
- A personalized 60-day roadmap in PDF format.
- An explanation of the private coaching program when appropriate.
- The diagnostic is free.
- There is no obligation to enroll.
- The roadmap is educational guidance.
- The diagnostic does not guarantee acceptance into the paid program.
- The diagnostic does not guarantee a specific result.
- Availability depends on scheduling capacity.
4. Program Description
Phase 1: The 16-Session CORE Protocol
Phase 1 includes:
- 16 private one-on-one sessions with Bruno Tovaglieri.
- Sessions normally lasting approximately 60 minutes.
- Delivery through Zoom unless another method is agreed in writing.
- Personalized Japanese conversation coaching.
- Practical speaking simulations.
- Corrections and feedback.
- Personalized lesson notes.
- Personalized phrase documents.
- Audio practice materials.
- Access to lesson recordings.
- Speaking assignments.
- Direct WhatsApp support for reasonable program-related questions.
WhatsApp support:
- Is normally available Monday through Friday.
- Is intended for reasonable questions related to the program.
- Is not a 24-hour emergency service.
- Does not guarantee an immediate response.
- Is normally answered within one business day.
- Does not replace a scheduled private session.
5. Schedule and Completion Period
- The recommended schedule is two sessions per week.
- At two sessions per week, the protocol is normally completed in approximately eight weeks.
- Students who need a slower pace may choose one session per week.
- At one session per week, the protocol is normally completed in approximately 16 weeks.
- The program contains 16 sessions regardless of frequency.
- All 16 sessions must be completed within six months of the first coaching session.
- Extensions may be considered in writing for serious illness, family emergencies or other reasonable exceptional circumstances.
- Extensions are not automatic.
6. Personalized Conversation Milestone
The objective of Phase 1 is to help the student develop the speaking reflexes required to sustain a real back-and-forth Japanese conversation around a personally relevant topic.
The milestone may include:
- Expressing complete thoughts.
- Answering questions.
- Asking follow-up questions.
- Listening for key information.
- Responding naturally.
- Recovering after forgetting a word.
- Continuing without relying entirely on a memorized script.
- Handling a relevant daily, social or professional situation.
- The milestone is personalized.
- It depends on the student’s starting level.
- It depends on the student’s goals.
- It depends on attendance, practice and consistency.
- It depends on whether the student chooses one or two sessions per week.
- Fluency is not guaranteed.
- A universal 20-minute or 30-minute conversation is not guaranteed.
- Testimonials and videos show individual experiences and do not guarantee identical results.
7. Student Responsibilities
Students agree to:
- Attend sessions.
- Participate actively.
- Complete reasonable practice assignments.
- Practice approximately 10–20 minutes per day when possible.
- Repeat phrases aloud.
- Review audio materials.
- Review lesson recordings.
- Maintain respectful communication.
- Use appropriate internet, audio and video equipment.
- Inform Japanese Mastery Lab of scheduling or technical problems.
The 10–20-minute daily routine is a recommended minimum practice habit and not a guarantee of results.
8. Scheduling, Rescheduling and Missed Sessions
- Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice.
- Each student may reschedule a maximum of two sessions during Phase 1.
- A cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice may count as a completed session.
- A missed session may count as a completed session.
- After two student reschedules have been used, an additional student-canceled session may count as completed.
- Exceptions may be considered for documented illness, emergencies or other reasonable circumstances.
- Exceptions are reviewed individually and are not guaranteed.
- If Bruno or Japanese Mastery Lab cancels a session, it will be rescheduled.
- A provider-canceled session does not count against the student’s two-reschedule limit.
- Sessions must still be completed within the six-month completion period unless an extension is approved.
9. Inactivity and Program Abandonment
- Students are responsible for maintaining communication and scheduling.
- If a student stops attending, Japanese Mastery Lab may make at least two written contact attempts.
- If the student does not respond for 14 consecutive days after those contact attempts, the program may be considered abandoned.
- Remaining sessions may expire.
- The outstanding fixed payment commitment remains due.
- Exceptions may be approved for illness, emergencies or other plausible circumstances.
- Students should contact info@japanesemasterylab.com as soon as possible if an emergency affects participation.
10. Fees and Payment Terms
The applicable program fee and available payment options will be provided to the prospective student in writing before enrollment and will also be displayed at checkout.
Before completing enrollment, the student will be informed of:
- The total program price.
- The amount due at enrollment.
- The number of scheduled payments.
- The amount of each payment.
- The payment dates or billing frequency.
- Any applicable promotional credit or individual enrollment condition.
- The expiration date and time of any applicable promotional condition.
- The complete financial commitment.
By completing enrollment or payment, the student agrees to pay the complete amount displayed and accepted at checkout.
- Any fixed payment plan is a commitment for the complete 16-session program.
- A fixed payment plan is not a cancel-anytime monthly membership.
- Applicable taxes charged by NNP合同会社 are included in the price disclosed to the customer.
After the applicable refund period, all remaining scheduled payments remain due even if:
- The student stops attending.
- The student loses interest.
- The student completes the sessions before the final scheduled payment.
- The student chooses not to use the remaining sessions.
- The student’s personal schedule changes.
The payment schedule does not change the number of sessions, program structure or six-month completion deadline. All payments are processed through Stripe.

11. Promotional Enrollment Conditions
Japanese Mastery Lab may occasionally offer individual promotional credits or enrollment conditions.
When applicable, the following information will be communicated in writing before enrollment:
- The promotional condition.
- The applicable price or credit.
- Eligibility requirements.
- The expiration date and time.
- The payment options.
- The total financial commitment.
Promotional conditions have no cash value and cannot be combined unless expressly approved in writing.
12. Stripe Payment Processing
- All payments are processed exclusively through Stripe.
- Payment methods available to the customer are the methods displayed by Stripe at checkout.
- Japanese Mastery Lab does not independently store complete card numbers.
- By selecting a fixed payment plan, the customer authorizes Stripe to charge the selected payment method according to the schedule disclosed before checkout.
- The customer must maintain a valid payment method.
- A failed payment does not automatically cancel the outstanding obligation.
- Japanese Mastery Lab may contact the customer to update payment information.
- Access to future sessions or materials may be paused while an overdue payment remains unresolved, subject to applicable law.
- Any recurring billing configuration must end after the agreed number of payments.
- The billing arrangement must not continue indefinitely.
Banks or card issuers may separately charge currency-conversion, foreign-transaction or international-card fees.
13. Seven-Day Refund Policy
A full refund is available only when both of the following conditions are satisfied: (1) the written refund request is received within seven calendar days after enrollment, and (2) the written request is received before the student’s second paid coaching session begins.
- The request must be sent to info@japanesemasterylab.com.
- When both conditions are satisfied, payments already collected will be refunded in full.
- Future scheduled payments will be canceled.
- Access to lessons, WhatsApp support, recordings and materials may end when the refund is processed.
- The request date is based on when the written email is received.
- After this period, payments are non-refundable.
- After the refund period, all remaining scheduled payments remain due.
- Loss of interest, schedule changes, failure to attend or failure to practice does not automatically create a refund right after the refund period.
- Nothing in this section limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
14. Cancellation by Japanese Mastery Lab
- If Bruno cancels an individual session, it will be rescheduled.
- The session remains part of the student’s 16-session total.
- It does not count against the student’s reschedule limit.
- If Japanese Mastery Lab becomes unable to deliver a material portion of the remaining program, it will communicate with the student and provide an appropriate remedy under applicable law.
- A remedy may include rescheduling, replacement delivery or a refund for undelivered services.
15. Phase 2 and Future Programs
- Phase 1 is a complete, standalone program.
- Phase 2, Phase 3 and future coaching phases are optional.
- There is no automatic renewal.
- Future phases require a separate offer, agreement and payment.
- Future content and prices may differ.
- The student is not obligated to continue after Phase 1.
16. Recordings and Program Materials
- Lesson recordings, audio files, lesson notes, phrase documents, exercises, frameworks and teaching materials are for the enrolled student’s personal educational use.
- Materials may not be resold.
- Materials may not be uploaded publicly.
- Materials may not be commercially copied.
- Materials may not be distributed to third parties.
- Materials may not be used to create a competing product.
- Lesson recordings remain available for 90 days after the final session.
- Access may end after the 90-day period.
- Access may also be revoked following a refund or serious misuse.
- Japanese Mastery Lab retains ownership of its original teaching content and materials.
17. Student Privacy and Marketing Permission
- Enrollment does not automatically authorize use of the student’s name, face, voice, messages, lesson recordings, progress or testimonials in marketing.
- Public or advertising use requires separate permission.
- Marketing permission is optional.
- Refusing permission does not affect access to the program.
- Private lesson content is handled according to the Privacy Policy.
18. Appropriate Conduct
Participation may be suspended or terminated for:
- Harassment.
- Threats.
- Discrimination.
- Illegal activity.
- Fraud.
- Serious disruption.
- Abusive communication.
- Unauthorized sharing of program materials.
- Fraudulent payment activity.
Financial consequences remain subject to these Terms and applicable law.
19. Technology Requirements
Students are responsible for:
- A stable internet connection.
- A functioning microphone.
- A functioning camera when required.
- A device compatible with Zoom.
- Access to WhatsApp or another agreed communication method.
- A suitable environment for participating.
Ordinary student-side internet or device problems do not automatically require an extension of the session. Reasonable exceptions may be considered when significant problems are promptly reported.
20. No Guarantee of Results
- Language-learning results vary.
- Results depend on starting level.
- Results depend on attendance.
- Results depend on practice.
- Results depend on participation.
- Results depend on personal circumstances.
- Results depend on consistency.
- Japanese Mastery Lab does not guarantee fluency.
- Japanese Mastery Lab does not guarantee employment, promotion, immigration results, business success, relationships or specific life outcomes.
- Testimonials and student videos represent individual experiences.
- The student is responsible for applying the coaching and materials.
21. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- Japanese Mastery Lab is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses.
- Japanese Mastery Lab is not responsible for independent decisions made by the student based on general language or cultural information.
- Japanese Mastery Lab is not responsible for third-party platform outages outside its reasonable control.
- Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
- Nothing excludes mandatory consumer rights.
- Nothing excludes liability arising from intentional misconduct or gross negligence where applicable.
22. Force Majeure
Reasonable delays may occur because of:
- Natural disasters.
- Serious illness.
- Government restrictions.
- Internet infrastructure failures.
- Major platform outages.
- Other exceptional events outside reasonable control.
The parties will communicate and make reasonable efforts to reschedule affected services.
23. SMS Messaging Program
Japanese Mastery Lab may offer optional SMS appointment confirmations and reminder messages to individuals who expressly opt in through an applicable form.
By providing your mobile phone number and affirmatively opting in, you agree to receive recurring informational text messages from Japanese Mastery Lab related to appointments and scheduling.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP at any time to cancel future SMS messages. After an opt-out request is processed, you will no longer receive SMS messages covered by that consent unless you later provide new consent.

Consent to SMS messaging is optional and is not a condition of applying, booking the Free Japanese Speaking Diagnostic, purchasing, enrolling, participating in a program, or receiving services.
Opting in to appointment-related SMS messages does not constitute consent to receive promotional or marketing text messages. Separate consent will be obtained if Japanese Mastery Lab offers marketing SMS messages in the future.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
SMS delivery may depend on the customer’s mobile carrier, device, network availability, geographic location, and other technical factors outside Japanese Mastery Lab’s control.
SMS communications and personal information associated with them are handled in accordance with the Japanese Mastery Lab Privacy Policy.
24. Changes to the Terms
- These Terms may be updated for future purchases.
- The “Last updated” date will change.
- Material changes affecting existing students will be communicated when appropriate.
- Changes will not retroactively remove existing rights unless permitted by law and accepted where necessary.
25. Governing Law and Disputes
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
- Mandatory consumer protections applicable to the customer remain unaffected.
- The parties should first attempt to resolve concerns by contacting info@japanesemasterylab.com.
- Unresolved disputes may be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction.
